Netflix is here with the story of a new witch who is clumsy and just another teenager who messes things up in the series You’re Nothing Special. It is about the young Amaia who returns to her mother’s hometown only to become the new celebrity who is said to have inherited her grandmother’s powers. The young teenager then begins her journey to become the new witch in town who will cast a spell on everyone. It starts off with the typical, let us show the ending and leave it at a cliffhanger to get viewers to stick to the end kind of scene. This teen series did the same thing as our protagonist Amaia is seen entering a party with confidence only to have someone splash their drink on her face. However, the constant commentary on everything that she does makes it different. The commentary does hit the spot because that’s exactly what is going on in the minds of the viewers who cannot help but sigh at the bad decisions she makes. The embarrassing scenes do keep coming because that’s what teenage years are all about. The plot is not too intense and the show is good for a light watch, but it isn’t something that will be labelled a must-watch.
