Robert Pattinson slams ‘bizarre’ deep fakes of himself on social media

Robert Pattinson isn't here for this social media trend. In a new interview, the Batman star discussed his feelings about the deep fakes of himself that exist on the internet, admitting that he wasn't at all a fan of the digitally altered videos. "It's terrifying," Robert told ES Magazine in a piece published Jan. 19. "The amount of people who know me quite well and will still be like, 'Why are you doing these weird dancing videos on TikTok?' It's really bizarre." The result of the eerie videos has also caused Robert to reflect on the consequences the clips could have in the future. "You just realise that we're two years away from it being indistinguishable from reality," he explained, "and what on Earth am I going to do as a job then?" And while Robert doesn't support the online fakes of himself, the actor revealed that he's currently filming a new movie, called Mickey 17, that sees him playing two versions of himself as clones who team up. The film, based on a dystopian sci-fi novel by Edward Ashton, will also star Steven Yeun and Mark Ruffalo.
