Modelling may seem easy to some, as for the audience it’s just to be presentable, but it’s not at all the case, it is really difficult and requires a lot of hard work. A person with dedication and motivation can only make their way to the top.

Modelling is sometimes an undiscovered and unknown way, it might be something that you have dreamed about and to your surprise you are destined to that route.

This became true for Alysha Khan, she is an aspiring fashion model and she knows how to nail it. Modelling comes very natural to the up and rising model, as she has always enjoyed getting ready and taking pictures of herself, which sparked an interest into her to opt for something she loves doing the most with utmost passion.

Alysha believes in having the right amount of confidence and the ability to carry unique and different looks. She describes her personal style as chic yet relaxed which anyhow keeps on changing with the passage of time. The young starlet in an exclusive conversation with MAG, opens up about her favourite designers she wants to work with, not caring about the competition within the fashion industry and just being focused and true to her craft and how she wants to keep a friendly, cordial working relationship with her fellow models. Excerpts:

What inspired you to choose modelling as a career?

I’ve always enjoyed getting ready and taking pictures of myself, influencing and modelling comes very natural to me as a Leo.

Many people think modelling is just about style and makeup. What’s your take on this?

Modelling is hard work. It’s the confidence and the ability to carry different looks. I see modelling a lot like marketing. If you’re wearing it, you have to be able to sell it too!

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style is chic yet relaxed. I see my style changing every year.

If you had the opportunity to work with any designer, who would it be and why?

So many to name! Kamiar Rokni, Sana Safinaz and my favourite this year, Muse! To name a few.

When working with other models, do you prefer to be friendly or just keep things professional?

I would like to keep it friendly and professional both!

What do you think is the most important skill for a model to have?

In my opinion, the most important skill for a model to have is to be confident.

What is the most challenging part of being a fashion model?

Shoot hours can be really hectic and this to me is the most challenging part of being a fashion model.

How have you grown as an individual since starting your modelling career?

After stepping into modelling, time management is something I now work on and secondly, it would be eating healthy.

What do you think about the competition in this industry, and the relationships models have with each other?

I think that we should shift our focus on the craft. I don’t want to have a competition in the industry in the first place. I just want to do the best work that I can do for myself.

What do you consider the toughest aspect of this job?

Long shoot hours and the physical labour that this job requires but I’m always grateful to be able to do what I love doing the most!

Do you believe that networking plays an important role in this industry?

It can surely help out a little in being able to make connections within the industry socially.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now?

That’s a tough one... Let’s just hope that I would be happy doing what I will be doing 10 years from now.
