60 Seconds With Sonya Hussyn

Actress, model, TV show host, besides being an epitome of Eastern beauty, Sonya has ample talent and skill to match. Since her debut on the small screen in 2011 in a drama serial called Dareeche, Hussyn has made her way to sheer success doing mega projects back-to-back, Tere Boina Main Nahi and Tinkay Ka Sahara being the most recent ones. Now, she also has a few films in her kitty like Moor, Azaadi and the multi-starrer Tich Button. She also continues to model for the country’s top fashion houses. We asked the actress to spare 60 seconds for us for a quick chat. Excerpts:

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I think I need to find more time for myself maybe, I haven’t been able to.

Who is the most inspirational person in your life?
Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

How do you define peace?
Contentment with one’s self and surroundings.

What do you splurge on the most?
Probably shoes.

What brings you the greatest joy?
My parents’ presence, and travelling.

What is your spirit animal?
Eagle.

What do you love the most about Pakistan?
The rich culture and the heritage, it’s all very fascinating.

Over-obsessing, I guess. I need to be more decisive.

A particular role you played that deeply impacted your personality?
It would be my role from Aisi Hai Tanhai. After filming the drama serial, I feel that I have morphed into a different person. It has made me conscious and more aware about the elements beyond my personal sphere.

An actor you take inspiration from in the industry?
Many. I love the works of Naumaan Ijaz, Samiya Shamshad and Irsa Ghazal. I really admire performances by Saba Qamar and Sajal Aly.
