96TH ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS
- 23 Mar - 29 Mar, 2024
The Academy Awards concluded the awards season on February 10 and for the second time, the grand event went host-less. This year was a platform for making statements, almost history-making, as some would say, with multiple stars coming out strong with their sartorial choices, nod towards Natalie Portman and her black and gold ensemble; names of all the female directors that were left from nominations were embroidered in gold on the hemlines. There was Joaquin Phoenix’s speech that went viral on the internet and for all the right reasons. The Joker actor made a speech about some important issues including animal rights and more that tugs the strings of your heart winning him applause. Jane Fonda used the platform to raise and add her two cents on climate change. The veteran actress made a bold statement rewearing a dress from Cannes Film Festival 2014 and says she will never buy any clothing articles in efforts to do her part for the environment. The night was abuzz with headline worthy happenings and we couldn’t be more inspired. As for the award ceremony, some very deserving nominees took awards home. Take a look:
