AMNA ILYAS JUSTIFIES HER FAT-SHAMING COMMENTS ON AAMINAH HAQ VIA VIDEO MESSAGE

Unapologetic

In case you haven't noticed, no two people look exactly the same (not even identical twins are 100 percent identical). So why is it that people feel they have the right to shame someone else about her body? In a world of digital everything, it's easy for people to bully others, hiding behind a screen. And because they're constantly in the public eye, celebrities are often the target – but many a times certain celebs body shame their fellow celebs without thinking they have a social responsibility of shaping public opinion. One such incident happen when veteran model Aaminah Haq came across a video of Amna Ilyas making fat-shaming comments about her. The clip was of HSY’s talk show where upon playing a game of guess the celebrity, Amna pointed out how the veteran model had put on weight. After the clip went viral, Amna faced some serious backlash to which she replied by justifying her body shaming comments through a video. In the video the model proudly accepted that she was a bully and seemed quite unapologetic about it as she did for her fat-shaming comment about Aaminah. "Aaminah Haq, I cannot change what I said, I cannot undo the change I might have caused you but I try to be a better me every day," she said ironically while mocking the paratha in front of her for being "Fat and burnt black too.”
