Statement sleeves and shoulders

Trent Alert

Unmissable sleeves and shoulders – with their ruffles, trains and floor sweeping length – are ballooning across the red carpets and catwalks. And there’s no sign of the trend deflating.

· We love a two-toned moment, especially when it involves sleeves of extended proportions like Sarwat Gilani’s gorgeous at the 18th Lux Style Awards.

· Asymmetric shoulders have been blazing a strong path since quite a few years now and they make an even stronger statement when paired with floor sweeping lengthy sleeves like Roshanay’s.

· Zara Noor Abbas arrived at 2019’s Lux Style Awards in a gold, shimmering gown with sleeves that featured a long train. The sleeves forming a train gave a distinct yet ethereal look.

· One-shoulder silhouettes have taken over runways and summer soirées. The rising popularity of mono-strap wares was evident at various red carpets including one where Momina Sibtain donned a yellow ruffled single shoulder design.
