Screenwriter Asma Nabeel passes away after a long battle with cancer

Sad demise

The year 2020 has been an unprecedented one. A global pandemic forced humanity into lockdown, bringing in its wake much uncertainty, fear and gloom. 2020 was also a year of loss as we lost many talented personalities from the world of showbiz like Amanullah Khan, Sabiha Khanum, and Tariq Aziz. As expected of all things in life, 2021 also will see the loss of many celebrities. Yet another demise that left us shattered is the loss of screenwriter Asma Nabeel. The writer that gave us dramas like Khaani, Khuda Mera Bhi Hai, Baandi and many more; passed away in Karachi after fighting a long battle with breast cancer. Nabeel was an avid supporter of breast cancer awareness and had been taking parts in many such campaigns including designer Ali Xeeshan’s Pardeh Mein Parwah. 2021 has really been an unlucky year for the literacy circles of Pakistan. Earlier this year, the literary world lost a legendary playwright like Haseena Moin. We mourn the loss of such talented writers. Asma Nabeel shall always be remembered for her contributions and by the great masterpieces she left behind.
