Festive Faves

Here’s How The Fashion Fraternity Is Gearing Up For Eid Soirees

Pandemic or not, festive season is the time to embrace ethnic fashion and make everlasting memories. Though it’s a good idea to bring the festivities home this year, there is no reason for us to not look forward to the excitement that comes with new clothes, accessories and of course, masks.

So, while we celebrate Eid-ul-Adha 2021 with our close ones and simultaneously attend WFH video calls or prepare for a house party, choose an ethnic attire that is also hassle-free and high on comfort. Below, we have compiled your ethnic fashion checklist for the upcoming Eid festivities, ranging from colour trends, silhouettes, and embellishments to on-trend jewellery pieces.

First off, flowy silhouettes, comfortable fabrics are a must. With Eid falling in this monsoon season which is neither too hot nor cold, slipping into a lightweight fabric with minimal embroidery or embellishments seems like the way to go. Take cue from these outfits in white and green with minimal embroidery only around the neckline, the sleeves and the trouser and look chic without too much effort. To add a bit more festive touch to your Eid look, go for silhouettes that are flowy.

Such flowy silhouettes tend to make even the most simplest of outfits stand out, like this one in yellow. It only has small, intricate embellishments on the bodice, keeping the remaining outfit plain. And for those who like to stick with the classics for their festive wear, look towards this head to toe heavily embroidered and sequined red kurti pajama, with tassels hanging to your kurti. Finally, accessorise your look with traditional jewellery like jhumkas and big necklaces dangling around your neckline.

As for the men, a plain monotone kurta pajama paired with either a plain waistcoat or a printed or an embroidered one can create an entirely new dimension to your appearance. The simplest way to rock your festive look is just by adding a tropical printed waistcoat. Or a velvet waistcoat with slight embroidery on the neckline and at the front pocket for a fabulous, chic, and crisp combination.
