If you’re wondering what makeup would be perfect for the chilly winter season, we recommend warm-toned makeup. This trend is nothing new but it is everything for a sensational warm and alluring visage this season. Since wearing loud makeup is not that appealing considering you have barely even worn much makeup this year, warm-hued makeup ideas will help you gain confidence once again and help you ease into wearing makeup once again. This trend is versatile, earthy and effervescent. It can be glam, sophisticated and au naturel, depending on how you choose to rock it. The key to nailing a warm-toned makeup look is choosing the right hues. Think warm blushes in apricot, flesh pink and reds; bronzer for sculpting and warmth; cinnamon spice lipsticks, rosewood and other earthy lip hues; and eye makeup in copper, rust, coffee, and dusty gold pigments. Take inspiration from Maya Ali as she revels in this awesome makeup trend. Read on:

Step #1: Moisturiser

No matter what your skin type (dry, oily, or combination), it’s important to hydrate both morning and night – and don’t forget sunscreen in the morning and cleansing and toning (this is especially important at night!) before applying moisturiser.

Step #2: Primer

While you don’t need a primer every day, it really helps to keep your makeup on – especially on a busy or warm day. A proper primer is meant to allow your makeup to wear the same all over your face. Meaning that the makeup won’t disappear or set on the dry areas of the skin and will not separate on the oily areas such as the T-zone. A hydrating primer such as the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer is perfect for your makeup to stay put all day long.

Step# 3: Foundation.

You can apply foundation with either your fingers or a brush – it’s all up to your comfort level. Dab Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation in shade Tawny in dots all around face. Blend using circular motions with either your finger if you want a light coverage or a brush if you want a fuller coverage.

Step #4: Concealer

Just like foundation, you can apply concealer with either a concealer brush or your fingers but a brush will give you a bit more full-coverage makeup look. Still, when it comes to concealer, a little goes a long way and you really only need to apply it to the areas you want to hide. Dot concealer under your eyes to cover dark circles, starting small and building up as needed. Then, apply a little to any blemishes or red spots, allowing the formula to set for a few minutes before applying any type of powder on top. The Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Concealer is a stellar choice for all skin types and skin tones.

Step #5: Eyeshadow

To create warm eyes, use the Tarte Toasted Eyeshadow Palette, dip eyeshadow brush into shades like Latte, Sunrise and Warmth and blend onto the lid, focusing away from the lash line, but following natural shape of eye. Blend any excess outwards on the deep crease. Then, take same shades and pinching the eyeshadow brush, lightly drag colour on lower lash line.

Step #6: Eyeliner

Use a pencil eyeliner to make your eyeshadow look deeper and more dramatic.

Step # 7: Blush

Use a powder blush in an orange-pink tone to give your cheeks a flush of colour.

Step #8: Highlighter

A warm makeup look isn’t complete without a highlighter, either a swipe so blinding you can see it from space or a natural-looking glow.

Step #9: Lipstick

Pucker up your lips by adding a swipe of Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Matte Lipstick in shade Pillow Talk and then finish with LAWLESS Matte Liquid Lipstick in shade George by adding to the center of lips.

Step #10: Setting spray

After all that work, you’ll want to set your makeup look with a setting spray. Set using Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. Spritz five to six pumps about eight inches away from face and let dry for about a minute to create a crease-proof finish.
