The Cinematic Glamour of Cannes Film Festival 2024
- 01 Jun - 07 Jun, 2024
The Crown, Ted Lasso and Mare of Easttown took home a whopping 10 of the 12 acting awards during the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by Cedric the Entertainer. The Crown's Olivia Colman, Ted Lasso's Jason Sudeikis, and Debbie Allen took home some of the top honours during the 2021 Emmy Awards, which was broadcasted live from the Event Deck at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles on Sept. 19. Highlights from the ceremony included Leon Bridges and Jon Batiste performing a rendition of River, a song from 2015 album Coming Home, over the In Memoriam segment. There were also a variety of sketches starring some of TV's recognisable names including New Girl's Zooey Deschanel and Seinfeld's Jason Alexander. After going virtual in 2020, the Emmys were held in-person this year. The TV Academy limited the ceremony to about 600 attendees, due to health and safety guidelines as the delta variant of Covid-19 continues to rage across the U.S. HBO and HBO Max topped the networks and streamers with 130 total nominations, followed closely behind by Netflix with 129.
