Saba Qamar signs ‘Hangor S131’ alongside Dur-e-Fishan Saleem and Affan Waheed

Reminiscing History

This Defence Day 2021, iDream Entertainment teased us with a motion poster of a telefilm based on Pakistan Navy’s submarine, Hangor S131. It appears to be a tribute to the Pakistan Navy as the animation reads: “A tale of thrilling sea encounter” giving us a hint that the story will be about the PNS/M Hangor, a Daphne-class diesel-electric submarine that served in the Pakistan Navy from 1969 until its decommissioning in 2006. Recently, Saba Qamar and Dur-e-Fishan Saleem have confirmed that they are a part of the project. Both the actors took to social media to share the picture of the script, which revealed that the telefilm is written by Saji Gul. Affan Waheed also shared the poster of Hangor S131 on his Instagram and later confirmed that he is also working in it. The telefilm will be based on true events from 1971 when Hangor sank the Indian Navy’s INS Khukri, an anti-submarine frigate, with one homing torpedo on 9 December, 1971. With an ensemble cast, we are expecting an engaging tribute to the naval forces. Telefilm Hangor S131 is expected to go on-air soon.
