All That Shines

From sparkle and sheen to fringes and feminine silhouettes, we are rounding up some of the party season’s hottest trends

The party season this year may look a little different, but the fact that we can finally spend it with friends and family is in itself a solid reason to celebrate. Events are back with a bang, and we have never been more ready to celebrate. From the imminent wedding gatherings and New Year’s Eve parties to all the rescheduled bachelorettes and other celebratory gatherings, there definitely is no going back to the days of sweats and athleisure anytime soon.

While we gear up for the season of celebrations, it is evident that our going-out fashion staples may have collected some dust over the past year.

With reemergence fashion and dopamine dressing as some of the year’s hottest trends, celebratory fashion follows suit in making its grand return. Putting our best foot forward as we step back into the world as it slowly returns to its new normal, stepping out in style is unanimously a top priority.

We take a look into some of the season’s hottest trends to help you get a kick start on your dressed-to-the-nines, over-the-top, grander-than-life party style.

Think glitz, glamour and sparkle. Adding an instant wow factor, sequins are just what we need to add that bit of sparkle this party season. Keeping the accessories minimal, let the outfit do all the work.

And if you have a thing for midi dresses, channelling a more relaxed and at-ease vibe, a satin dress has a way of blending cool and glam. These fluid and shiny outfits make for a perfect night out in the town or a dinner date with your partner.

That said, party season’s number one micro trend is halterneck dresses. When the iconic halter neck popped back onto our sartorial radar, it was really to no-one's surprise. The defining and popular silhouette of the noughties is just another addition to fashion's ever-growing love affair with 2000s nostalgia – and if we're entirely honest, we're not mad about its resurgence.
