Jack of all trades and master of the one – despite how overused this phrase is, it fits right at Munib Nawaz. The fashion designer cum entrepreneur cum RJ has a highlighted philosophical demeanor that he channels so well into his creations, especially considering he’s been responsible for styling A-list celebrities in movies and music videos for years. Nationally and internationally acclaimed, Nawaz has won multiple accolades for his male fashion line including one at Miami Fashion Week 2009, bringing new exposure to the Pakistani fashion industry. The fashion connoisseur joins MAG for a quick and fun rapid fire. Here are 60 seconds from his life. Excerpts:
The day I decided I want to have a career.
Being grateful for being who you are with what you have.
Be grateful and be able to do things that make you manifest a better you. Be in the moment, learn and laugh and always be positive.
Be here now.
Life. Happiness. Beauty. Music. Literature.
Don't worry. Life has its own plans bigger than yours.
Learning how to be happy.
Pain.
Being around friends and family.
Everything.
Skinny everything – lapel, tie, pants, shorts, shirts, people. Let's live large.
Trusting their own style sense over their stylists’/designers’. If you have them, trust them. If you don't have one, get one.
Athleisure and organic fabrics.
At a philosophical level, it would have to be “balancing the paradox”. But on a more operational level, it's “looking like a rockstar, feeling like royalty and acting like a gentleman”.
