3rd HWLA celebrates impressive achievements of 11 iconic women

Internationally recognised awards promote the positive impact women make on society and can help bring greater visibility to women's achievements. Encouraging women to put themselves forward or by nominating suitably qualified women, the diverse strengths and achievements of successful women across industries, countries and backgrounds is celebrated. Kashmir HUM Women Leaders Awards recognises the achievements of such women annually. This year, the third edition of HWLA was held at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad, under the International Women’s Day theme “to make the cross and break the bias”. The event honoured and celebrated 11 iconic women and a dynamic man from Pakistan and abroad for their contributions and achievements in the fields of social work, healthcare, judiciary, human rights, science, education, art and architecture. The awards ceremony was graced by Dr Arif Alvi, President Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Canadian High Commissioner Wendy Gilmour, British High Commissioner Christian Turner, Minister of Science and Technology Shibli Faraz, Federal Minister for IPC Fehmida Mirza and other dignitaries. Muniba Mazari, Syeda Ghulam Fatima, Dr Wardatul Amani Wan Salim from Malaysia, Dr Rozina Karmaliani, and Maryam Bibi, were some of the awardees of the night.
