Do you love animals? You aren’t alone. And you’ll probably be excited to learn many of your favourite celebrities use their fame to draw attention to animal cruelty or to advocate for all pet owners to adopt instead of buy their furry companions. That said, too many people are still shopping for a new pet instead of considering adoption. But thankfully, more and more of us are turning to city shelters, rescues, and organisations to find our next family member. And model and host Anoushey Ashraf is one of them. Ashraf actively talks about animal rights and time and again condemns animal cruelty. Playing her part as an activist, she recently shared reasons to adopt a pet instead of buying one. She wrote in an elaborate Instagram post, “ADOPT, DONT SHOP! WHY? 1. Because you'll save a life, with all this culling it’s our moral duty to help. 2. It’s one way to fight puppy mills.” Further sharing her perspective, she wrote, “Because all pets are good for your health as they have been shown to be psychologically, emotionally and physically beneficial to their companions.” And most importantly, “Because you'll change a homeless animal's whole world: And get a new best friend out of the deal!”
