Blue eyeshadow makeup is one of the trendiest looks to sport this season. While dealing with a colour like blue can be tricky we try to simplify it for you. Check out these blue eyeshadow looks and how to create them below.

Icy blue eye makeup

Create this look using:

• Light indigo blue eyeshadow

• Blue glitter

• Black and indigo coloured eyeliner for the water line

• Highlighter

• Eye base

This is a simple look that you can recreate on your own as you need to play with just one eyeshadow colour. Apply the eyeshadow on your eyelid using a flat brush after you have applied eye base or primer. Use the brush on your lower eye to create a smudge effect. Dab on some glitter using your index finger (or a brush whichever you find easier). Use highlighter below your brow line and on the inner corners of your eyes. Apply black liner in winged effect. Use the indigo liner on your waterline to complete the look.

Frosted winter

Create this look using:

• Nile blue eyeshadow

• Light azure blue eyeshadow

• Grey eyeliner

• Cobalt blue eyeliner

• Highlighter

• Eye base

This look is also easy to recreate at home as you have to play with just colours. After you have applied eye base or primer, apply nile blue eyeshadow on your eyelid. Blend it evenly while keeping it slightly smokey at the outer corner. Then, on the middle of your eyelid, apply eye base using a flat brush. Don’t spread this base, just dab the brush. Once you have done that, apply the second eyeshadow colour on the base and blend it with blue just on the edges. The eyeliner technique here uses two colours – blue and grey. Apply the cobalt blue eyeliner on the first half (starting from the inner side) and complete it with grey eyeliner.

Midnight blue eyes

Create this look using:

• Brown, black and sapphire blue eyeshadows

• Black gel eyeliner

• Golden glitter liquid eyeliner

• Highlighter

• Mascara

• Eye primer

The technique used for this look is half cut crease. Form your crease line by applying a mix of black and brown eyeshadow and blend out the brown. Reapply eye base to one-third of the eyelid from the inner corner to the middle of the eyelid. On top of the eye base, apply sapphire blue eyeshadow. At the outer corner, apply black eyeshadow and blend it slightly with the blue colour. Apply black eyeliner in winged style on your lash line and water line. On the crease line, apply golden glitter eyeliner, starting from the middle and merging it with the winged eyeliner. For the under eyes, smudge some blue eyeshadow and apply golden glitter eyeliner from the start to the middle of the lash line. Apply mascara and voila, you have completed the look for midnight blue eyes!

Classic blue smokey eyes

Create this look using:

• Black and blue eyeshadow

• Black gel eyeliner

• Highlighter

• Mascara

Smokey eyes are always in. Whether it’s a day event or evening, you can easily don the look. Start by applying black gel eyeliner on your eyelids the same way you will apply it otherwise. Using a flat eyeshadow brush, blend black eyeshadow and the gel eyeliner. You will have to be slightly faster than usual as gel eyeliners have a tendency to dry up quickly. Take the black colour up to your crease line but keep it below. Then using another brush, start applying blue eyeshadow and blend it outward, giving the impression of smoke. Reapply your black eyeliner in winged form and on your waterline. Apply blue eyeshadow under your eye and mascara on your eyelashes to get the final look.

Galaxy blue eyes

Create this look using:

• Eyeshadow colours: dark caramel, deep chocolate, black, deep blue, pearl

• Blue glitter

• Black eyeliner

• Light sky-blue highlighter

• Highlighter

• Eye base

Perfect for any evening party, this look can make heads turn. Apply chocolate eyeshadow on the inner crease, followed by caramel and pearl eyeshadow on the outer crease. Using another brush apply deep blue eyeshadow on the eyelid below the crease. On the outer corner, apply black eyeshadow and blend it inwards with blue, slightly. Apply some blue glitter using your finger or a brush on the middle of the eyelid. On the inner corner, apply sky-blue highlighter. Complete this blue smokey eyeshadow look by applying a black eyeliner.
