Rape apologists are nothing new – there is a reason so many sexual assaults go unreported by women. But when the attacker is a beloved public figure, reason (and conscience) seem to go right out of the window in an attempt to protect the rapist and dismiss the victim. Unfortunately, one such A-lister who did not seem to have empathy for victims of these crimes is Naumaan Ijaz. During a segment in talkshow G Sarkar With Naumaan Ijaz, the actor began questioning Ayesha Omar and asked if she meant to start up a controversy when she spoke about her personal experience with harassment. He also asked if it’s necessary to speak up about the past, looking at others who have done so, which he, himself, does not believe necessary, due to it leading to damage to one’s image. He then continued to ask if following her truth proved beneficial in any way, where she was applauded for the same, to which Ayesha responded that she did not do so for applause.
