Looking to add some cheer to your Eid celebrations? Let this edit help

After the sombre gatherings over zoom calls last two years, the exuberance of full blown celebrations have finally made its way to our cultural calendars.

Eid-ul-Fitr 2022 witnessed the best of traditions, prayers and meals after the month long fasting through Ramadan. And Eid-ul-Adha doesn’t seem to look any different. From embracing a conventional shalwar suit to the sumptuous feasts, the celebrations are going to be all things love.

The festivities for this Eid may not have you pulling out the big sartorial guns like the Eid-ul-Fitr, but dressing up and inviting in or going out for a small gathering may be just what you need to unwind after working non-stop in the kitchen with all that freshly cut meat.

While shararas and anarkalis often lead the way when it comes to dressing up for festivities, there are also many styles of shalwar suits and kurtas you can experiment with. From embroideries that stand out and prints to fabrics and colours, we've pulled out options for all sensibilities.

Easy to dress up or down depending on the invitation in your mailbox, shalwar sets are the very epitome of versatility. Take straight kurta and palazzo sets, for instance. They work well for everything from a lunch to a high tea. Turn to cigarette pants when you need to amp it up. Be it your distant cousin's Eid dinner or a gathering at your own place, this is an ensemble that can work regardless. Choose one with intricate lace or applique work for when you need to keep it simple, or slip into a more ornate embroidered outfit and traditional jewellery for that ‘bell of the ball’ vibes.
