Even though it feels like we spend the majority of our year waiting for the summer months to roll around, the mad rush of summer beauty prep somehow still manages to sneak up on us. Whether you're rushing to top up on fake-tan or scrambling to book in at your local nail bar, the onset summer time can send even the sanest of us into a beauty frenzy.

But panic not! When it comes to levelling up your summer hairstyle game, our celebrities are a plentiful resource for seasonal inspiration that you can bookmark and call upon when your summer plans get in full swing.

We've rounded up the easiest summer hairstyles guaranteed to get you through every event from weddings to work, to working out, no matter what the weather decides to do.

Wispy bangs

Emily Ratajkowski recently debuted a new hairstyle at the Cannes Film Festival, and the look just screams summer. The model showed off her wispy bangs on Instagram, and though the style is a departure from her usual curtain bangs and middle part, it gave a light, airy feel to her face that makes it perfect for summer.

Tucked bob

In April, Zendaya stunned while on the red carpet to promote her hit show Euphoria. Combining the wet-hair trend with a bob, the front of the actor's hair had a sleek yet wavy look to it, and she combed it to the back of her head, tucking the ends for a chic, timeless, tucked-bob hairstyle that could take you from work to happy hour easily.

"Wet look" hair

Kim Kardashian and Chris Appleton made magic once more at the Vanity Fair Oscars party in March, and this stunning wet-looking ponytail was the result. To start, Appleton used the Colour Wow One Minute Transformation Cream and applied it all throughout Kardashian's hair. Then, he applied the Colour Wow Pop + Lock Frizz Control and Glossing Serum directly onto a Tangle Teezer the Ultimate Detangler to evenly disperse product through the pony and give a silky, detangled finish to the hair. This, he previously stated, will give you the "perfect controlled wet look."

Bottleneck bob

This ’70s-inspired heavy bob will be an easy summertime style. It should fall around mid-neck and feature fairly blunt ends. Pair it with bottleneck bangs and you have a haircut inspiration any hairdresser would love to create for you. Stars like Selena Gomez, Lucy Hale, and Lucy Boynton are the current A-listers rocking the look.

Sculptural wave fringe

While the Gen Z vs Millennial hair parting argument rages on, the runways and our A-listers have clearly signalled the side parting as this summers hairstyle; Taylor Swift paired this with a 1920s inspired gravity defying waved fringe.

Accessorised low ponytails

When the temperatures are high, you tend to want your hair off your neck – but, to elevate a simple low ponytail, people will be going all-out with hair accessories. We anticipate lots of accessorised ponies that use eye-catching clips and other trinkets to add a pop to the classic updo. Simply put: It’s chic, effortless, and polished.

Octopus cut

We expect the latest iteration of the shag – aka the octopus haircut – to continue being popular this summer, which is a great cut for lived-in, beachy strands. The octopus has a rounded top layer for great volume and body. Then the sides and bottoms drop out – like tentacles – and hug the nape and neckline. Two perks to know? The cut pairs nicely with curtain bangs and blow-drying is optional.

Shattered one-length

Many people are opting for a “shattered” take on a single-length cut (oftentimes this is a bob). This is for the people who want movement but minimal layers. It pairs really well with a long curtain fringe. The ultimate summertime perk of the look? It’s low maintenance. This haircut is great if you do not like blow-drying your hair or if you love to use an Airwrap because of the texture in the perimeter.

Space buns

Space buns are classic because they look chic without much effort. Simply create two small buns on either side of your head and secure them with an elastic or a bobby pin. This look works great whether it’s sleek or messy, making it versatile. This look works best with your hair parted down the centre, but you may also be creative and place the buns anywhere you see fit.
