‘Saadhay 14 August’ is all set to bring out every Karachiites inner patriot on Pakistan’s 75th birthday

Unmissable theatre

Touch wood, but there's every reason to think that 2022 will be the first year since 2019 that Pakistan’s theatres won’t have been forced to close en masse as a result of the global pandemic. We’re not out of the woods yet, but theatre survived 2020 and 2021 and it’s not going away any time soon. So with just the tiniest note of caution, let’s get excited for Pakistan theatre in 2022, as the plays, musicals and other good stuff we’re used to by-and-large return to how they were. Expected to be the biggest and much awaited show of the year, the show worth booking for, pronto, Anwar Maqsood’s Saadhay 14 August is all set to premiere in Karachi on Pakistan’s 75th birthday i.e. 14th August 2022. The theatrical trilogy begun 10 years ago is finally coming to an end with Saadhay 14 August. Breaking the big news, Kopykats Production released a short teaser for the play captioned, “Celebrating 75th Anniversary of Pakistan with the final part of the theatrical masterpiece trilogy, Anwar Maqsood’s Saadhay 14 August.”
