Actress and campaigner for authentic Muslim representation on-screen, Mehwish Hayat has been revealed as the first patrons for charity U.K. Muslim Film (UKMF). UKMF works to change perspectives through championing underrepresented talent and voices, both on-screen and behind the camera and also advises the entertainment industry on how to authentically represent Muslims on-screen.


Despite of all the problems we all have these days, we must step up and look towards Baluchistan. The current situation there is at a catastrophic level due to flooding and we as a nation need to step up and help them. One for all and all for one.

Weeks of unusually heavy seasonal monsoon rains and subsequent flooding have killed many people and destroyed thousands of homes across Baluchistan, according to Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). Hareem Farooq stressed on for the situation to be tackled as soon as possible. The devastation has prompted the military to mobilise their personnel and assets to assist in civilian relief operations in the province.


May the Almighty accept their martyrdom and grant them the highest level of Jannat ul Firdaus. My deepest condolences to their family and friends. May the Almighty grant them peace. Ameen

Shaista Lodhi sends her condolences as the military officials who were supervising flood relief operations in Lasbela district, when their helicopter lost contact with the air traffic control. Rescue teams found the wreckage of a military helicopter that crashed overnight due to bad weather in the flood-hit southwestern Baluchistan province, all six senior officers on board embraced martyrdom in this extremely devastating incident.
