Celebs pray for Pakistanis affected by floods and urge the people to help out

Help our people!

We are in the midst of a national crisis which is a consequence of a global crisis. This year’s monsoon rains have been unusually incessant, resulting in flash floods all over Pakistan. Organisations, governmental and non-governmental, are doing their best to maximise outreach and help as much as possible. Given the urgency of the situation, celebs have started verbalising the need to act, urging their followers to do their part. With the flood death toll hitting 1000 and still on the rise, the government of Pakistan has declared the monsoon rain-induced floods a “climate-inducted humanitarian crisis of epic proportions”. Singer and actor Farhan Saeed pushed his followers to “do charity” and spread the message to help “our people” in this time of need. Actor Ahsan Khan expressed his distress with the current situation. He shared the death toll and damage statistics and said, “Let’s help them together!” Actor Neelam Muneer criticised the leaders who are not taking significant action to help the “homeless, displaced, devastated” flood affected. Amar Khan highlighted the severity of the situation and asked her followers to “help in whatever capacity” possible. Cricketer Shaheen Afridi requested all citizens to help and donate as much as possible. “Let us come out of this as a nation,” he said. Ayesha Omar urged netizens to unite, whereas Feroze Khan also asked people to donate, to start small but start.
