Veteran actor Afzaal Ahmad laid to rest

The seasoned actor of TV and films Afzaal Ahmad has passed away after prolonged illness, his family confirmed. According to media reports, he suffered from brain hemorrhage in November 2011, leaving him with a speech impairment. Earlier this month, his health deteriorated and he was rushed to Lahore’s General Hospital in critical condition but he couldn’t had survived.

Afzaal Ahmed started his career with Radio Pakistan – his distinct voice was his identity. He started his film career with Dhoop Aur Saaye in 1968 and did around 300 films and TV shows. The notable movies of his career included Hashoo Khan, Chan Waryam, Insan aur Gadha, Sasta Khoon Mehnga Pani, Khabardar, Seedha Rasta, Wehshi Jutt and many others. He was best known for his work in International Gorillay (1990), Aakhri Muqabala (1977) and Jatt in London (1981). Afzaal is survived by his wife and three daughters.
