Indo-Pak celebrity power couple, Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza, has a new venture up their sleeves, a celebrity-based talk show titled Mirza Malik Show on Pakistan’s emerging OTT platform Urduflix.

The promos of the show have already been out – and we are super excited to see our favorite sportspersons taking the charge of hosts of the show. Although, the promos give us the idea that it will be an exciting fun-filled experience but there is a lot that we want to know about the show. For that, we spoke to the dynamic team behind the Mirza Malik Show.

After getting some interesting insights from the team here we list down five things we bet you don’t know about the show.

Meet the dynamic team behind the show

The mastermind of the show is its producer Syed Farhan Gauher Zaidi. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer at UrduFlix Entertainment. Having years of experience in the entertainment industry and a well-connected network in Dubai, the man came up with the idea of doing a one-of-its-own kind show.

Farhan in an exclusive conversation with MAG told that it was challenging to work with these fabulous sportspersons.

“It was a challenge to bring two mega sports icons together for a talk show and we couldn't have been able to do this without our team,” he said.

He further added that the show is about to get launch on the OTT platform and it has been an honour for him to produce a show that aims to appreciate Pakistani talent like never before.

“Urduflix is proud that it delivered an international-level celebrity talk show that celebrates the Pakistani entertainment industry, sports, and music in such an amazing style,” he added.

The creative director of Pakistan Idol, Noor Ul Huda Daudpota has directed the show. She has been associated with top entertainment shows in the Pakistani television industry including Pepsi Battle of The Band, HBL PSL Studio Show, Daraz 11:11, and National Ketchup Factory season 1.

The script of the show has been written by the very talented Ahsan Raza Firdousi. He has immense experience in writing content for television including Hum Awards,IPPA Awards and Lux Style Virtual Awards 2020. He has also jotted down script for two movies Maan Jao Naa and Ishrat Made in China.

The set of Mirza Malik Show has been designed by senior set designer Noman Khan.

It is not any other run-of-the-mill talk show

If you are expecting Mirza Malik Show to be any other run-of-the-mill talk show, then we are here to prove you wrong. The two sports stars bring their quirky persona into the show.

“You've never seen two epic sports stars getting candid with showbiz personalities and showing the other side of their personality in the show – we have done that on Mirza Malik Show. The outcome has been amazing and we are sure that viewers will love it,” the script writer of the show Ahsan Raza stated.

He also said the hosts never aim to sensualize the conversation and instead keep it light-hearted.

“The best part of the show was that the hosts never wanted controversial answers from the guests just for the sake of it. So, in a way it's an old-school show where a light-hearted non-sensational conversation is a goal,” he added.

Raza further also shared that as the digital show is powered by Spotify so one can expect music to be a crucial part of it.

“The show is a celebration of music and you'll see stars singing and displaying their musical side on the show,” he said.

The team also told MAG that hosting comes naturally to both Shoaib and Sania and none of them has to put in extra effort to be a great host.

“The experience of working with them was awesome. They never let us feel that they have never hosted a show before. They love humor and know well to engage the guests in an interesting conversation,” the team said.

The team also added that our Sialkot boy is good at playing juggat and Sania is good at repartee.

It is a women-led show

The director of the show Noor Ul Huda Daudpota has been very excited to be a part of the show as it has some amazing women on the team.

“We have a brilliant line-up of power girls on the set – Sania is, of course, a driving force for all women out there but her team also had some resilient women who are inspiring in their way so it was an amazing experience working with a dynamic team of ladies”, she said.

Little Izhan got the nickname ‘Gulab Jamun’ on the set

Shoaib Malik’s son used to bring his energy to the set. The little boy gets a new nickname on the sets as the team used to call the adorable kid “gulab jamun”.

“Izhaan is a sweet little child and during the break we often spot our cricketer playing with his cute kid,” Ahsan told MAG.

The show is comprised of 13th episodes. The shooting of the show was done in Dubai. Some of the celebrities that made it to the Mirza Malik Show included Mehwish Hayat, Waqar Younis, Fahad Mustafa, HSY, Adnan Siddiqui, Humayun Saeed, Imad Waseem, and Iqra Aziz. It is expected to air on Urduflix from December 18.
