When it comes to movies and television shows, 2022 has been a phenomenal year for us. Bilal Lashari’s The Legend of Maula Jatt has set new records at the box office. Our celebrated stars Mehwish Hayat, Fawad Khan, and Humayun Saeed got recognition on international platforms in projects like Ms. Marvel and The Crown respectively. Bilal Lashari’s mega opus offering The Legend of Maula Jatt emerged as the highest-grossing movie of the year by earning amazing numbers at the box office of around Rs 91.31cr ($4.06M) in Pakistan, and PKR 146.69cr ($6.52M) in other territories and for a worldwide total of PKR 238.9cr ($10.6M).

Starring Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, Humaima Malick, and Hamza Ali Abbasi in lead roles the film is an adaptation of the 1979 cult classic film Maula Jatt.

Ms. Marvel

The movie Ms. Marvel is the first attempt of showing the story of a Muslim female superhero but what is more special about it is the presence of our stars Mehwish Hayat, Fawad Khan, Samina Ahmed, and Nimra Bucha in it. Directed by Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy this movie was searched ‘the most’ on google all this year.

Black Adam

It is a 2022 American superhero film starring Dwayne Johnson as the titular DC Comics character. Also, Henry Cavil made a comeback as the Man of Steel in it. The film is a spin-off of Shazam! (2019). At the box office the film has done wonders – it has grossed $167 million in the United States and Canada, and $222.3 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $389.3 million

Thor: Love and Thunder

It is a 2022 American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring the character Thor. Chris Hemsworth returned as the Mighty Thor in this superhero flick. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the sequel to Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and the 29th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film was directed by Taika Waititi, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, and stars Chris Hemsworth, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Jaimie Alexander, Waititi, Russell Crowe, and Natalie Portman.

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a 2022 American superhero film based on Marvel Comics featuring the character Doctor Strange. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, it is the sequel to Doctor Strange (2016). It is the third-highest-grossing film of 2022 with big numbers at the box office of around $411.3 million in the United States and Canada and $544.4 million in other territories.

London Nahi Jaunga

The successful team of Punjab Nahi Jaungi, Humayun Saeed, Mehwish Hayat, and Nadeem Baig, returned with another blockbuster London Nahi Jaunga this year. The film received praise for its interesting story and great performances. It is currently the second-highest-grossing Pakistani film of 2022 and the third-highest-grossing Pakistani film of all time

The Batman

It is a 2022 American superhero film based on the DC Comics character, Batman The film shows Batman fighting crime in Gotham City for two years, uncovering corruption while pursuing the Riddler (Dano), a serial killer who targets Gotham's elite. The film was directed by Matt Reeves, who wrote the screenplay with Peter Craig. It stars Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman alongside Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis, and Colin Farrell.

Quaid-e- Azam Zindabad

The hit Jodi of Nabeel Qureshi and Fahad Mustafa returned with another amazing project, Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad. However, this time superstar Mahira added her magic to the movie – the result was a massive success at the box office. Fahad Mustafa played an unapologetic police officer Inspector Gulab in the movie.

Sinf-e- Ahan

Produced by Next Level Entertainment and Six Sigma Plus in collaboration with ISPR Sinf-e-Ahan is about courageous women coming from diverse backgrounds and how their lives got changed after joining Pakistan Army. Written by Umera Ahmed and directed by Nadeem Baig, the drama stars Sajal Aly, Kubra Khan, Yumna Zaidi, Ramsha Khan, and Syra Yousuf.

House of the Dragon
