Google has released its annual Year in Search report, recapping the top trends of 2022 in Pakistan. The searches revealed that over the year, Pakistanis had a diverse range of interests that pivot on politics, famous personalities, government initiatives, current events, entertainment, technology, and food. In 2022, Pakistanis actively searched for the following smartphones. Take a look!

Vivo V23

The most unusual feature is the Sunshine Gold model’s ‘colour-changing’ exterior that apparently shifts colours completely when exposed to sunlight. The other standout feature is the display’s notch that houses two selfie cameras, a 50-megapixel main unit and an 8-megapixel ultrawide. The selfie camera system also supports eye-based autofocus. The V23 has a flat 6.44-inch 90Hz 1080p panel, and the sides of the phone itself are also flat.

iPhone 14 Pro Max

The iPhone's display notch, which has defined Face ID iPhones since 2017's iPhone X, has been replaced with a pill-shaped screen cutout that houses an upgraded TrueDepth camera system. The new Apple phones also get upgraded cameras, a faster processor, an always-on display and iOS 16 as well as new safety features including Crash Detection and Emergency SOS via Satellite. The 6.7-inch 14 Pro Max retails at $1,099. The new Pros come in space black, gold, silver and deep purple – which, depending on the light, can look like a drab shade of gray or like Grimace purple.

OPPO F21 Pro

The new Oppo F21 Pro has a unique profile. It features a boxy, squared-off design. The back of the phone has a notable camera bump housing three sensors. It has a new Sunset Orange finish with a faux-leather texture that feels great and has some newness to it. The phone offers a good display to users HDR10 AMOLED display that refreshes at 90Hz. It features a 6.4-inch screen, operating at full HD+ resolution.

Vivo Y21

The Vivo Y21 is a middle ranged phone with impressive features. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor is running the Vivo Y21. This processor is not as powerful as some of the other business chipsets. The newest operating system for smartphones Android 10 has been used. The 6.51-inch, 16-million-colour IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen can be used with more than one finger. The screen is 720 x 1600, which is full HD+. A 5000 mAh battery gives the phone power.

Vivo V23e

The V23e seems to adopt an ultra-slim design. For optics, it houses an impressive camera setup at the back. It sports a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. Moreover, the phone has 8GB of RAM and offer 12GB of onboard storage capacity. It comes pre-installed FunTouch OS 12 which is based on the Android 11 operating system. The phone draws its juices from a 4,500mAh battery with 44W fast charging support. Also, the dual-SIM smartphone offers multiple connectivity options.

Infinix Hot 12

Infinix Hot 12 was launched in May 2022. The phone has 6 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage which is expandable using microSDXC (dedicated slot). The Infinix Hot 12 Play has a 6.82 inches, 720 x 1612 pixels IPS display with a pixel density of 259 ppi. Coming to cameras, it has a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera for selfies. It has a USB Type-C port for data syncing and charging.

The Realme C35’s display is a pleasant surprise. It’s quite big at 6.6 inches, but it’s only an IPS LCD rather than a colour-rich OLED. It has a 1080 x 2408 (Full HD+) resolution for starters, which benefits all forms of content. The gap from 720p to 1080p is way more meaningful than the gap from 1080p to 2K. Colour accuracy is on point too. The Realme C35 runs on a Unisoc Tiger T616 processor.


The Oppo A16 has a 6.5-inch screen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and has a battery with a 5,000 mAh capacity. It is powered by a chip known as the Helio G35. The 6.52-inch HD Plus resolution IPS LCD screen. The main camera has 13 MP, the depth camera has 2 MP, and the macro camera also has 2 MP. There is also an LED flash in the square cutout shown. There is also a fingerprint reader on the back of the phone. There’s a 5 MP camera on the front and a 5000 mAh battery.
