Yumna Zaidi is all ready to make her feature film debut with Nayab, an upcoming film that revolves around cricket. Zaidi shared a minute-long clip of the motion poster on Instagram and wrote that the idea and making of the film is “close” to her heart. The actor in the clip was heard saying, “Akka, tum dekhna, aik din poori dunya ko kehte sunno gai. Naam yaad rakhna,” with loud cheers in the background. “The team is absolutely great and accommodating. Right now I am at the training for couple of months, working for this project,” Zaidi shared with a publication. “This [Nayab] character is about a girl who is passionate about cricket, trying to reach a certain point with her brother’s help as she struggles. He helms her reach her dreams,” she explained. The film is directed by Umair Nasir Ali and also stars Jawed Sheikh and M Fawad Khan in pivotal roles. Nayab is being produced by Rumina Umair and Umair Irfani. Its executive producers are Agnes and David Kenney of Kenneyz Films and the screenplay is written by Ali Abbas Naqvi.
