TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2024
- 26 Oct - 01 Nov, 2024
After not broadcasting last year as penance for its historic diversity problem, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s annual Golden Globes award ceremony returned to NBC with the clear mandate to let the industry know that lessons have been learned.
Hollywood stars returned in their droves to the Golden Globe Awards, wearing a variety of eye-catching outfits on the red carpet. Speculation that few celebrities would show up this year due to the controversy surrounding the Globes proved largely unfounded – with a few exceptions. Some stars were notable by their absence – Tom Cruise and Brendan Fraser have previously distanced themselves from the voting body behind the Globes and did not attend. But most of the nominees and guests who showed up the Beverley Hilton hotel in Los Angeles were happy to pose for photos as they walked the red carpet ahead of the glamourous ceremony. On the film side, winners include Angela Bassett, who received the best supporting actress in a motion picture trophy for the Marvel smash Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Michelle Yeoh, who received the best performance by an actress in a motion picture – musical or comedy for the summer’s ground-breaking flick Everything Everywhere All at Once.
Have a look at all the winners of the 80th annual ceremony from the world of TV and film.
