Sunil Shetty started his acting career in 1992 with the action film Balwaan. Before this, Shetty was rejected by many heroines because of his dark complexion. No heroine of the 90s was ready to work with him. Earlier, Shetty himself mentioned this in an interview and said that he came to Bollywood in 1990 to become a hero. It was the period when the image of the hero was quite different in the minds of people. People did not want to see any dark-skinned heroes.

For this reason, even directors did not cast such people. Shetty once said that many heroines rejected him because of his dark skin complexion. They openly said that they would not work with an actor with such a skin tone. However, he did not give up and kept fighting. Shetty’s debut film turned out to be a super hit and he became a star overnight. The movie also featured Tinu Anand and Danny Denzongpa in pivotal roles.
