Fardeen Khan reveals how brutally Sanjay Leela Bhansali dissed his acting skills back in 2000s

Heeramandi on Netflix has got everyone talking. Not only is Sanjay Leela Bhansali is bringing the world of Lahore's courtesans in an OTT series for the global streaming platform, but Fardeen Khan is making his big comeback with the big budget project. He is playing the role of Wali Mohammad, a Nawab who is in love with one of the courtesans. Fardeen was away from the arc lights for 14 long years. In that period, he gained a lot of weight and later shed all of it with a strict diet and disciplined fitness routine.

Fardeen Khan told Pinkvilla that he once went to his office in the early 2000s to seek work. He said he met Bhansali and hoped to get a chance to be in his films. The actror revealed that Bhansali said he did not think he could work with him, as he did not see the fire in his eyes.

Fardeen said that it felt brutal when he heard it from Bhansali at that point. But he admits that he needed a reality check. When he met him this time, he thanked him for that honest feedback. He said he is grateful to get a chance to work with a master craftsman like him and that working on Heeramandi has enriched him on many levels.
