Slow-cooker Meatballs with Fettuccine

· 500 g beef mince · 2 chicken sausages
· 1 brown onion, grated · 1 cup breadcrumbs
· 1 egg, lightly whisked · 2 teaspoons chopped sage
· 1 tablespoon olive oil · 1 brown onion, chopped
· 3-4 garlic cloves, crushed · ½ cup beef stock
· 400 g diced tomatoes · 400 g pasta sauce
· 500 g fettuccine
· 2 teaspoons chopped oregano
· 2 teaspoons chopped basil

Place beef mince, sausage mince, grated onion, breadcrumbs, egg, sage, oregano and basil in a bowl. Mix until well combined. Season. Shape the mixture into balls. Place on a plate. Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the meatballs. Cook until brown all over. Transfer to a slow cooker. Add the chopped onion to the pan. Cook until it softens. Add garlic and cook until aromatic. Add beef stock and bring to boil. Add the tomatoes and pasta sauce, stir to combine. Pour over the meatballs in the cooker. Cover. Cook until the meatballs are cooked through and sauce thickens slightly. Season. Cook the pasta until al dente. Drain well. Return the pasta to the pan with a little sauce from the cooker. Toss to combine. Divide the pasta mixture among bowls. Spoon over the meatballs and sauce.
