Meanwhile at the graveyard, Rizwan was lying next to his father’s grave. He was feeling very helpless and he seemed to have no control over his body. As wind blew, he changed his position and sat up a little. There he started talking to his father’s grave:

Father, why is this happening with me? Tell me what my sin was. What was my actual crime? Please tell me what am I being punished for?

Some leaves fell off the tree nearby. He commented looking at them:

I don’t believe in this stuff. I don’t believe that there is a connection between your soul and the movement of the leaves. But Mr. Taha always tries to convince me that there is.

He turned and looked at his father’s grave and asked:

You tell me father, should I give importance to this unrealistic stuff. Anyways, tell me father what is going on with me. Tell me something that is it happening because you were upset with me. This marriage, I don’t know why you were upset with it but I do know now that it had no future. You were not aware of unseen. Your knowledge was not beyond a normal person’s limit. There were several people who claimed that you possess knowledge of the unseen but I remember how you always refuted these ideas and claimed that you do not possess knowledge of unseen. You were not even confident about the knowledge you gained through dreams and praying.

He stopped speaking for a while and waited for some response. He knew that he didn’t believe in receiving response from the grave, but there was hope inside his heart regarding some consolation.

He chuckled and asked himself:

Since when have you started believing in this stuff?

That day’s evening, while Hannan, Sirtaj and Maqsood were at the hospital, they decided to investigate the matter of that empty bottle through the doctors. Maqsood who luckily had the bottle went to the doctor and demanded whatever they had planned. The doctor responded to his request:

“Alright fine, I’ll have it sent to the lab. Once this will be done, I will call you. Give me your number”

“Ok I am, but I need you to understand what exactly I am trying to find out”

“Ok, it would be better if you’d clarify it one more time”

“What I need to find out is that was there poison in that bottle? If yes then was that poison capable of suffocating a person to death. A patient of asthma”

“Ok, I got it. I have understood”

Maqsood shook hands with him and left the place.

One Day Later

Sidra was happily walking towards Rizwan’s house. She was wondering while walking:

Today I am going to apologize to him first and then once he will forgive me, I will ask him to leave this family and this house. I won’t force him, nor will I ask him to leave them forever, I will simply ask him to come with me to another city for a couple of years.

Meanwhile inside Rizwan’s room, he was sitting deeply upset and he was holding a picture of his wedding. He was constantly looking at Sidra in the picture and he spoke while looking at her:

I had no idea that our marriage would end up like this one day. I was so excited back then today I am equally disturbed about it.

He heard his house’ doorbell and got distracted. He stood up and went to answer it.

Several seconds later as he reached the main gate, he opened the door and quite unexpectedly saw Sidra standing outside. He was left badly stunned as he saw this but deep down inside he was delighted about it. He asked her:

“Sidra, is this really you?”

“Yes” she smiled.

He was quite impatient regarding what she was going to say. She began:

“Rizwan I came here to…”

That second, a gunshot was heard and some splashes of blood coming out of Sidra’s head were seen by Rizwan. Rizwan blinked his eyes several times but as he stopped he realized painfully that Sidra had just been shot on her head by some kind of gun. The blood that he had seen was because of the bullet that had pierced open her skull.

Oh my God Rizwan uttered as he saw her falling down.

He stepped outside and before bending down to look at her he looked up at the person who was standing close by and was holding the gun. It was none other than Khubaib.

Rizwan however kneeled down and tried to pick up his wife who had unfortunately died and there was nothing he could do about it.

••Rizwan began to cry as he was holding his dead wife’s body in his lap. He tried to call out her name but he couldn’t as he couldn’t help himself while crying.

Khubaib while walking away from the spot spoke:

If she couldn’t be mine then she couldn’t be anyone’s.

There were several people around who had witnessed the entire scene therefore Khubaib had understood that he would be caught sooner or later.

Several people rushed to help Rizwan pick up the dead body but Rizwan was not yet willing to acknowledge this fact that his wife had died.

The very next day, Sidra’s funeral was conducted in the same graveyard where their father was buried. All the relatives were there in the funeral except for Hannan who had chosen not to be there.

Rizwan was upset but he was more furious as he believed that his wife’s death had something to do with Hannan but he remembered his father’s words:

Don’t be suspicious of anyone Rizwan? Suspicions only bring hatred and mischief.

“The mischief has already begun” he spoke out loud as if answering his father.

Meanwhile at some distance, inside the hotel room, Hannan had just discovered about his sister in law’s death from Sirtaj. Hannan spoke out:

“Look whatever has happened, it was a tragedy. But I’m afraid that people will think that I am responsible for this”

“That’s right. You’re the one who hired khubaib to spy on Rizwan”

“That’s not true. I never hired him. I never hired anybody to do this stuff”

“No Hannan, you did. Look I know that you are not involved with this crime, but people have every reason to suspect you”

“And why is that?” Hannan asked. “Just because I asked him to find out something about Rizwan’s life and he brought me the list of prophecies, people are going to claim that I ordered him to murder Sidra?”

“Look, you have been pointing your finger on Rizwan for murdering your father, now he will avenge for that”

“Oh God!” Hannan uttered regretfully.

Sirtaj spoke after few moments:

“The best option for you right now is to give up everything and leave the city”

“Are you out of your mind?” Hannan exclaimed getting enraged. “Do you want them to get even more suspicious of me? And for what? A crime that I never intended to commit”

“Look, all you need is an alibi. If the police suspect you then you can you simply tell them about a place where you were at the time”

“I was getting discharged from the hospital”

“That’s perfect. You will have several witnesses for that”

“Yeah” Hannan replied liking the idea.

Sirtaj walked towards the opposite direction to give himself a break from Hannan, but Hannan called him out:

“Hey Sirtaj, what about Khubaib? Is he going to be any trouble?”

“I don’t really think so. You told me that he wanted to marry Sidra, so it’s quite possible that he went there to shoot Rizwan but he accidentally shot her”

“Yeah, that sounds quite right”

“Look Hannan, I’ve got to warn you, a bad time is about to come. Because this murder will not end the previous disputes, in fact it will fuel them even more. You should either leave the city…”

“…I can’t do that” Hannan spoke in between.

“Let me finish” Sirtaj spoke raising up his hand. “These people around you are nothing less than you. You are a troublemaker, but they are even worse. They will hold you responsible and drive you crazy”

“Are you calling me a troublemaker?”

“Please don’t go there, you know what I mean. If you hadn’t attacked him the other night, things would have been different”

“Hey, I am only demanding justice. My father was murdered”

“Do what you like? But things are not going to get any better”

Three Days Later

Several relatives of late Tariq Yasar had gathered at Mr. Taha’s house. They all were seated on the sofas and chairs inside the house and they were waiting for Mr. Taha to show up.

Mr. Taha came downstairs and sat among them after greeted them all. They were waiting for him to begin his speech, so he drank a glass of water and then began:

“Hello everyone, as you all know that we are gathered together here to discuss the family dispute of Tariq Yasar’s sons…Look the issue is simply unresolvable. We cannot do anything about bringing them together because Tariq Yasar was clear about the fact that a dark period would come and it would last quite longer”

“So what are you saying?” one of the relatives asked. “That we should do nothing about it? You mean we shouldn’t even think about resolving the dispute”

“Look I hate to say this, but yes that is exactly what I think”

There was a little murmuring among the relatives as they heard this. Mr. Taha spoke in between:

“Listen to me please, I’m not clearly saying that we should do nothing about it, I’m saying that we should try and find out who is on the right track. Which brother among the two is reliable and loyal to his father’s blood is what matters”

“Are both the brothers related with blood?” one of the relatives asked.

“Ok, just forget that” Mr. Taha answered. “We need to focus on the main issue here. The way I see it, one among the two brothers is corrupted, we need to find out who he is and then…then we will exile him”

“Exile him?” another one of the close relatives asked.

“Exile him from the family. Not from the city or anything”

One of the women stood up and asked:

“So how are we going to find out who is the good one and which one is the bad guy?”

“That’s a very good question, and the answer is simple”

Everyone waited anxiously for him to speak further. He continued speaking:

“We need to know his prophecies. By prophecies I mean his predictions. And I don’t believe that those prophecies are one hundred percent accurate. However, the answer lies within the prophecies. The negative person’s activities will prove how his father foresaw him”

Mr. Taha took a breath and drank the whole glass of water.

“Now…” he gave his final verdict, “we are going to keep an eye on the two brothers. The brother who turns out to be against his father’s prophecies will be our culprit. We are not going to let him be a part of our family once we are confident about how harmful he can be”

The very next day’s afternoon, Rizwan heard his phone ringing. He stood up and went to answer the call. He picked up the phone and answered:

“Hello?”

“Is this Mr. Rizwan?” a woman asked from the other end.

“Yes”

“I was a close friend of Sidra’s. You probably don’t remember me but I have to tell you something”

“Ok, I’m listening”

“First, I want to tell you how sorry I am for your loss. Secondly, I want you to know that before she got shot that day, she was with me”

Rizwan gained some interest and listened to her speak:

“Sidra told me that she was planning to reunite with you”

Rizwan shut his eyes with grief. He heard her say:

“She said that she was going to handle the upcoming disasters of her life with you. She was willing to endure all of this for you”

Tears fell off Rizwan’s eyes. He was deeply sad remembering the moment how she was standing outside his house.

Rizwan had lost his attention but then he again paid attention to what he was being told by the woman:

“I want you to know Rizwan that Khubaib murdered her because he wanted her. He was in love with her therefore he had to kill her, because she was simply planning to reunite with you”

“This is a lie” Rizwan spoke firmly. “What you are telling me is not true. I know personally that Khubaib was working for Hannan and he was ordered by Hannan to murder her”

“Hey that is so not true. You have it all wrong”

Rizwan spoke trying to be polite:

“I’m sorry I have to hang up now. Thank you for calling though”

Saying this Rizwan hung up his phone.

Rizwan then wiped off his tears and walked towards his room where he used to rest as usual.

That same moment at the restaurant nearby, Khubaib was sitting angrily. He heard some footsteps that were making their way towards him. He turned and saw Hannan along with Maqsood making his way towards him. Khubaib stood up seeing the anger in their eyes.

Hannan held his collar and punched him on his face saying:

“Why did you murder Sidra? She was just an innocent woman, and you killed her? Tell me why you did this. Why?”

Khubaib raised his voice and pushed him away:

“Hey let go off me. This has nothing to do with you. No one is blaming you for this, I did what I had to do with that lying woman”

Hannan tried to hit him again but Maqsood stopped him and said:

“What are you planning to do with him? Hitting him like this won’t resolve the problem”

“No I am going to kill him today” Hannan answered pulling his arm.

That very moment some fourth guy came and pulled Hannan away from Khubaib. As Hannan looked at him he recognized him as Khattab.
