Street Style High

Here’s how to remain on top of the fashion game
Out of all of the joyous fashion launches to shop, the 2024 dress trends are preeminent on our list. How could anyone deny a one-and-done piece that takes the guesswork out of getting dressed? Whether you’ve RSVP’d to a party or are simply yearning to unleash your inner street style star while running errands on the weekend (hey, you never know who you're going to run into), it’s these of-the-moment dresses that will ensure you end the spring season on the most stylish note.

With street-style fashion trends, anything – indeed, anything – can go. And that's half the fun of it. This season's showgoers proved formal dress codes are out and that the real world can, and often does, function as an in-action spring 2024 trend report. Street style trends call on timeless codes and classics, but they also integrate exciting personal twists. According to the street style set, there's no one correct way to wear your blazer, and an "It" bag isn't always what you'd expect.

Street-style photographers report a surplus of silver hardware repeatedly caught their eyes across New York, Milan, and Paris this year. Rivets and grommets on bags, shoes, belts and jackets, etc add a little edge to a casual outfit. We love old-school lady-like glamour, and so does the street-style crowd. This season, you can expect an astronomical increase in lady jackets.

Tweed, contrasting trim, metallic hardware, and pearls seem to have permeated everything going into the season. Now is the perfect time to invest in a great classic tweedy or bouclé cropped jacket, and offset it with a set of contemporary accessory, like a baroque pearl earring.

While you might expect sharp stilettos to be a Fashion Month favourite, most fashion enthusiasts prefer wearing their best ballet flats while jumping from one runway show to the next.

Mary Janes and ballet flats are still going strong into 2024, and they will definitely be the primary shoe of choice as the weather gets warmer. Get ready to see them frequently styled with statement socks and tights, a combo you should test out with your mesh flats, too.
