He disconnects his call and immediately sends his team of cops and FBI to the Coronado bridge. As all the cops were away and he was all alone in the corridor of the hospital, he begins to walk thinking how could Landon and Brian both become rivals at the same time intending to kill each other.

Someone calls him from behind. He turns around and sees, it was no one other than the criminal himself, wearing his usual clothes and his face covered with a mask.

Meanwhile at Coronado Bridge, Landon was waiting for Brian to come. As Brian reaches and they both see each other, Landon steps forward and takes out his revolver, but Brian doesn’t show any sign of fear, and instead he takes out his own pistol charging towards Landon. They both get closer.

Back at the hospital, Mr. Barrymore getting a little scared asks the criminal:

‘Who are you?’

The criminal puts off his mask and shows his face. It was Landon’s face.

Criminal tells his Game Plan

The criminal’s face was exactly the same as that of his elder brother Landon’s. Except for the difference of eyes and lower lip part, they were quite like twins.

Mr. Barrymore recognizes him as Landon and asks:

‘Landon? You?’

‘No’ the criminal replies.

‘Wait a minute…a twin brother? No I get it now…you got a plastic surgery on your face to make yourself look like Landon’

‘Yes’ he smiles, ‘Landon and I are now more like twins. The only difference is he is two inches taller and I have different eyes, that’s why I wore sun glasses’

‘So it was you…’ Mr. Barrymore says getting multiple thoughts, ‘you were the one who killed Bret, and made it look like a murder by Landon’

‘Yes…howdy!’

Hearing his last word, Mr. Barrymore realizes that the brother he saw yesterday at the restaurant was not Landon but this criminal. So he asks:

‘But wait…why Dr. Adrian didn’t tell us about this’

‘I forbade him, I ordered him to keep this as a secret’

‘Did Landon know that you transformed your face to Landon’s’

‘Yes, this was his second secret of life. The truth he kept away from everyone including himself’

‘Oh God’ Mr. Barrymore holds his forehead.

‘This was his weakness Barrymore, which helped me making a strongest move in this game. Committing a homicide crime and making him look like a killer’

‘You killed Bret just to frame him?’

‘Yes’ the criminal replies, ‘I knew the video was being recorded. Every act was planned for Brian’

‘Brian knew about this? Why is he cheating on us?’

‘Barrymore, you’re not listening. I meant that every act was planned to make a fool out of Brian. Brian’s not affiliated with me. No one is. I’ve been alone all the way long’

However, back at the Coronado bridge, Brian says to Landon:

‘I should have known about you. My friend Bret died. I am completely responsible for that. He spied on you due to which you ruthlessly…’

‘Shut up!’ he interrupts, ‘you have been behind everything. You were involved in this crime’

‘What makes you think that? Have you gone nuts?

Back at the hospital again, Mr. Barrymore gets a little confused and asks:

‘What do you mean by you were all alone? You transferred Landon’s wealth to Brian’s account, right?’

‘No…this is not what you think it is. My second smartest act in this game was planned years ago. My identity, my date of birth and other details changed entirely, right?’

‘Right’ Mr. Barrymore replies.

‘I changed my identity from Logan Bale to Brian Hammond. My new identity was almost everything as that of Inspector Brian’s’

‘Oh my God’ he says getting amazed.

‘Landon’s wealth was transferred to my account. This had my name Brian Hammond confusing me and Inspector Brian’

‘Now I understand’ Mr. Barrymore replies, ‘this was all planned right?’

‘Right!’

‘I want you to repeat all this in brief’

‘Alright’ the criminal replies, ‘around two years back, I changed my identity from Logan Bale to Brian Hammond. No one knew about this. I knew Landon and Brian, and I also knew that they wanted to prove themselves better and smarter. So I set up a competitive investigation and had them trapped. While they were investigating on me, I was following both of them secretly. My sole purpose was not accusing people for earning black money. My purpose was actually to get back what was mine, Landon’s black money. Then my smartest move took place earlier this morning, I transferred Landon’s money to my account by hacking. But making it look like as if transferred to Inspector Brian’s account. This thing fooled Landon. And the second thing I did was killing Bret and showing myself in the camera, to make it look like a murder committed by Landon. This fooled Brian. Now both of my befooled targets Landon and Brian are about to kill each other accusing each other for the crimes which I committed’

Mr. Barrymore remains silent and smiles admiring his brilliance. He says to Brian the criminal:

‘One thing deserves to be mentioned. You are a mastermind criminal. You set up a very brilliant and cunning trap. No one can deny this fact’

‘Well…I appreciate your compliments’

‘But I request you Brian, please call this off. You already have won but I just can’t let you win, sorry. Please call this off’

‘I won’t commit a single crime now, I promise. And once I get what I want, you won’t ever hear from me again’

‘Look Brian’ Mr. Barrymore says, ‘you know I can’t arrest you, but I want you to stop Landon and Brian’

‘Landon tried to kill me years back, he deserves punishment. And Brian loves bribe. He is no different than people who earn black money. These guys deserved to be punished some way’

‘Well are you leaving then?’

‘I would like to tell you one thing. More than brilliance and cunning, a dangerous plan like this requires devotion. Since a long period, I’ve been waiting for this day, to get what I deserve. Changing identity and facial appearance was not easy, but as it was done with devotion, I saw success’

Mr. Barrymore remains silent. Even though he had a gun in his jacket, he couldn’t arrest or just kill Brian the criminal. As the criminal leaves covering his face, commissioner talks to himself:

‘I swear to God I haven’t seen anything like this before in my life. This criminal is a mastermind. He has just planned a mastermind trap very intelligently. Due to his trap, both the great detective and the smart inspector have become deadly rivals and are about to kill each other’

He picks up his cell phone and makes a phone call to his team of cops, as his call is answered he instructs:

‘Get there immediately, Landon and Brian are about to kill each other. Go and stop them, before anyone gets killed’

Landon realizes Something

The cops drive their vans faster as the appointed location was a little far. But Landon and Brian who were unaware of who was coming towards them throw away their weapons. Brian says to him:

‘What if you and I finish our competition the dangerous way, you show me your physical strength and I’ll show you mine’

‘I’m going to love this. Beating the hell out of your mind, destroying your ego’

‘But don’t forget’ Brian smiles. ‘Everything is fair in love and war’

Landon raises up his sleeves and kicks away his pistol towards Brian. Brian imitates his every act and slowly approaches towards him.

Outside the hospital, Landon’s facial copy and his younger brother Brian Hammond uncovers his face again and lights his cigarette and takes a puff. He says to himself:

‘The bad guy won…transforming myself from a normal person to Detective Landon and Inspector Brian was the cost of my father’s will. I finally paid the cost’

Saying this he leaves in a cab.

Back at the bridge, Brian and Landon were fighting badly. Both of them were bleeding a little. After a little fight, while they both were lying on ground, Brian picks up both of the guns and aims Landon with them. Brian smiles,

‘As I said, everything’s fair in love and war’

‘Well this wasn’t a war for you. This was actually a love. The love you have for your ego and your self worth’

Brian admires his words after which he tosses away one of the pistols towards Landon, which he catches and immediately aims towards Brian. Landon stands up.

‘I liked what you said’ Brian says.

‘Brian I don’t know yet…why are you blaming me for a crime I did not commit’

‘This was just a competition between us’ Brian says angrily, ‘but you turned it into a battle of life’

‘I have no idea why are you blaming me’ Landon replies more angrily, ‘but I have understood by now that all the way long you were playing a game with me. You knew criminal’s every next step…because you were affiliated with him’

‘I knew I would hear this shit one day, because you need an excuse to accuse me. But I’m here for a reason. I have a video clip evidence which proves that earlier today you went to Bret’s home and killed me’

‘Hold on hold on…’ Landon says getting something in his mind.

Slowly he realizes that earlier today it must be his brother who might have killed Bret to make it look like his (Landon’s) crime. He asks Brian:

‘Are you sure you’re not affiliated with my brother? Because if you were then you would definitely have not accused me’

Brian gets angrier on him and finally shoots his pistol twice, straight towards his chest. As Landon gets shot, he fells backwards and lies on ground realizing he was over and slowly understands that the account he saw earlier must not be inspector’s, but his brother’s.

‘If Logan changed his to Brian Hammond’ he says before dying, ‘then my brother has won defeating me, my rival and the FBI’

Brian sees him finally dying away.

At the unfortunate moment, he hears police vans approaching towards him and realizes that his own time was over now.

The Phone call

That evening, Brian was locked inside the lock up cell at his own police station. He was wondering what Landon was trying to tell him before he was about to die. He was aware of some facts of the criminal as he heard from the cops and jailors. He sees Mr. Barrymore standing outside the cell,

‘Ex-Inspector Brian soon a late Brian’

‘What do you mean?’ Brian asks angrily.

‘Whatever you thought’

‘Sir what is this? Get me out of this, please’

‘You know Brian. I wanted to see you behind the bars like this. Because I hate police officers like you who love bribe more than anything. You’re not here because of bribery but because of killing a worthless detective. It works for me both ways’

‘I don’t know what you want’ Brian says angrily. ‘Just tell me what happened with that criminal’

‘He finished his work and got away. But he still proved worth of black money. Your black money ended you up in jail and Landon in grave, if you agree’

Mr. Barrymore receives a call at his cell phone. He sees that it was an unknown number. So he hands over his cell phone to Brian to answer the expected person. Brian answers:

‘Yes? Who is it?’

‘Brian Hammond’ the criminal replies from the other line.

‘Who Brian Hammond?’ he asks angrily.

‘The guy you’ve been looking for since one month’

Brian the ex-inspector closes his eyes as in regret.

‘You were not my victim in this game’ the criminal says, ‘but your love, your black money also cheated on you. It didn’t help you before getting arrested. This was what I always believed. Black money leads to a tragedy’

He remains silent.

‘Anyways, I just wanted to inform you’ the criminal continues, ‘that I’m leaving San Diego, and all the money that belonged to my first three victims is donated for a charity. Because my sole purpose was not other’s money, it was my own money that Landon inherited as black money’

Brian smiles and before disconnecting his call he says:

‘Brian you were right about everything except one thing…Yes I was cheated by something I loved, which ultimately led to a tragedy. But it wasn’t black money…
