Rahat Fateh Ali Khan expresses deep sorrow over Tafo Khan's passing

Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan expressed his sorrow over the passing of musician Tafo Khan. "With Tafo Khan's death, a chapter of the music family has closed," said the singer. "I extend my condolences to Tafo Khan's sons, nephews, and singer Sahir Ali Bagga," he added. "It’s a significant loss for the world of tabla and music," the artist stated.

The renowned Pakistani musician passed away at the age of 78 after months of illness. According to details, Khan had been unwell for several months due to kidney disease and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Born in 1946 into a family of musicians, Khan was introduced to the tabla at a young age. He performed alongside many prominent artists, including Mehdi Hassan, Noor Jehan, Ghulam Ali, Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, and Shazia Manzoor, and also introduced other artists, including singer Nasibo Lal. His Punjabi song Sun Way Balori Akh Waliyan became immensely popular.

The great musician of the Indian subcontinent, often referred to as the "King of Rhythm", had his funeral prayer held on October 27 in Lahore. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Executive Director of Alhamra Sara Rasheed, and many artists expressed deep sorrow and regret over the passing of the award-winning musician, praising the late artist's contributions to music.
