Akshay Kumar has confirmed that the highly anticipated third installment of the Hera Pheri franchise will commence filming by the end of 2025. In an interview, he expressed his excitement for the project, which has been long-awaited by fans of the iconic comedy series.

“I, too, am eagerly awaiting the start of Hera Pheri 3,” said Kumar. “If all goes well, we expect to begin filming by the end of this year. When we first made Hera Pheri, none of us anticipated that it would evolve into such a cult classic. Even upon watching the film for the first time, I didn’t fully comprehend its impact. Yes, it was amusing, but we certainly didn’t expect it to gain such legendary status.” The actor further shared that the film’s script has been finalised, and production plans are now underway.

The original Hera Pheri (2000), directed by Priyadarshan, became an instant success, largely due to the chemistry between its lead actors – Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty. The film's success led to the release of a sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), which further cemented the franchise’s place in the annals of Indian cinema. The lead trio will be reprising their roles for the new film, continuing the adventures of their beloved characters.
