The Exquisite World of Gota Patti
- 10 May - 16 May, 2025
The era of 2025, with its glamorous touch, is bound to make formal women wear elegant and a class apart. In this year’s formal dress updates, there are new trends that embrace the old with new silhouettes blended with classic patterns. Formal dressing this year is an amalgamation of traditional, expensive and contemporary styles and fashion. If you like loud and dark jewel tones, simple elegance, or even over-the-top decorations, rest assured these trends will make sure you stand out no matter what event you have.
Emerald green, ruby, white and sapphire are the topmost choices of colours for formal wear this year. Such royal hues would definitely control the fashion house for most evening occasions, like a wedding. The current fashion trends suggest a more casual yet elegant long flowing gown, maxi dresses, or even cape-like attire that is breezy and effortless.
Fusion or hybrid dresses or outfits achieve the traditional embroidery with a contemporary silhouette. For instance, pair a gharara with a peplum top or match a low-high hem with a traditional gota. A sparkling outfit is a must-have in 2025. Sequins, gold and silver touch, and mirror pieces take an ordinary formal outfit up a notch – ideal for nighttime events!
The formal outfits with bishop, bell or puff sleeves with extravagated covers are more dramatic. These designs modernise how traditional wear looks. Net fabric is also making a comeback in dupattas, sleeves, long sleeves and further into full-length gowns. Gotta work or embroidered net elevates the outfit with sophistication and femininity.
For the ones who like it minimal, a lot of embroidery is preferably done on high-end fabrics such as silk organza or jamawar. The same trend has been seen in cleaner cuts and minimal details within the busy ensemble. Summer formal clothes are mainly stained with blush pink, powder blue and mint green. These soft and light tones can be worn for daytime weddings or other such functions.
