'Practical Magic 2' starring Bullock, Kidman gets official release date

Dust off the spellbooks: Practical Magic 2 is officially conjuring its way to cinemas. Warner Bros. has announced a theatrical release date of September 18, 2026 for the long-anticipated sequel to the 1998 cult classic, with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reprising their beloved roles as witchy sisters Sally and Gillian Owens.

The follow-up will draw from a later installment in Alice Hoffman’s Practical Magic book series, though plot details remain under wraps. The original film, which saw the Owens sisters battling a centuries-old family curse, flopped at the box office but has since found new life as a fan favourite. A short teaser released by Warner Bros. features a voiceover incantation from Bullock and Kidman. The sequel will share its release weekend with Sony’s Resident Evil reboot directed by Zach Cregger, setting the stage for a magical box office faceoff.
