Leonardo DiCaprio has secured another major career milestone after earning his seventh BAFTA Best Actor nomination, placing him alongside some of the most respected names in film history. The nomination, announced this week, recognises his performance in One Battle After Another and pushes him into a rare group that includes Daniel Day Lewis, Michael Caine, Laurence Olivier, Jack Lemmon, Peter Finch and Dustin Hoffman.
At 51, DiCaprio also set a new benchmark by becoming the youngest actor to reach seven BAFTA Best Actor nominations. The previous age record had been held by Dustin Hoffman, who achieved the same number at 52. The latest recognition adds to a long list of acclaimed performances from DiCaprio, with earlier BAFTA nominations for The Aviator, The Departed, The Wolf of Wall Street, The Revenant, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and Dont Look Up.
