Actor Andrew Garfield has spoken about his approach to social media, revealing that he uses unofficial “creeper accounts” despite not maintaining a public online presence.
Speaking at the London premiere of The Magic Faraway Tree, Garfield shared his perspective during an interview with the Associated Press, discussing his experience with social media use and digital habits.
The actor acknowledged that he engages in the same behaviours as many users, particularly when it comes to excessive scrolling. “I’m just as bad as everyone else,” he said, adding, “Because I’m a human, and they’ve somehow managed to tap into our human addictive responses. So no, I’m not immune to it.”
Although Garfield does not operate any official social media accounts, he confirmed that he still accesses platforms through private profiles. “I don’t have social media. I have, like, creeper accounts in certain places. And I have to be very, very disciplined with myself,” he said.
Garfield also reflected on the challenges of maintaining discipline online and expressed admiration for those who are able to manage their screen time effectively, especially parents.
