Tabish Hashmi says he needs more time, money, influence to enter politics

Comedian and actor Tabish Hashmi featured on a television programme to discuss his interests in politics and his opinions on Ramazan transmission entertainment.

Opening up about this entry into professions besides entertainment, Hashmi emphasised that he needs more time, money, and influence to go into politics. “Iqrarul Hassan left his job after 21 years of hosting. I will also leave after 21 years. I have only spent five years in this job, I have to earn as well”, he said.

Hashmi added, “Yes, I care about helping our country but I also need to think about helping myself.” He stated, “I can’t serve the community without money. You can’t be honest when you have nothing; principles are only tested when you are broke.”

The comedian also touched on questions surrounding social media videos and the type of content appearing on morning shows and Ramazan transmissions. “Sometimes I find it cringe, sometimes funny like a meme, but there are also some things that show desperation."

"If you need content, you can do game segments in which you know answers will be funny, but doing these antics and planted phone calls, whether in Ramazan or not, is not graceful,” he said.
