Talha Anjum has revisited the controversy surrounding his Kathmandu concert, where he received an Indian flag from a fan and draped it over his shoulders. The gesture sparked mixed reactions, followed by a widely discussed interview with Nadia Khan that drew criticism for its aggressive questioning.
Speaking on the Geo Podcast with Mubashir Hashmi, Anjum reflected on the backlash, saying, “I wasn’t expecting that and that’s mostly because I don’t do interviews and wherever I go, I try for there to be a point to it. I don’t talk to people for no reason.”
Discussing reactions from artists, he highlighted the double standards around India-Pakistan celebrity interactions. Hashmi noted, “When Diljit [Dosanjh] does a concert and invites Hania Aamir on to the stage, we celebrate,” while Anjum described such reactions as “hypocrisy.”
Talking about the interview, Anjum said, “I don’t talk to anyone like that and I don’t want anyone to talk to me that way.” He added that while he respected Khan, he believed she “must have learnt that you don’t do this.”
