‘Love Island USA’ season 8 breaks records with massive streaming

Love Island USA season 8 is continuing the franchise’s ratings success, emerging as one of the biggest streaming hits of the summer with record audience growth and engagement.

According to preliminary Nielsen data reported by Deadline, the reality dating series generated 2.3 billion minutes viewed during its first two weeks, marking a 50% increase compared with season 7 during the same period. The show ranked as the No. 1 streaming program for the weeks of June 1 and June 8.

The season’s popularity has also boosted companion series Aftersun, which returned with hosts Ciara Miller and Tefi Pessoa. Peacock reported a 144% increase in viewership compared with the previous season.

NBCUniversal revealed that 27% of viewers are new fans of the franchise, while 26% of engagement comes through mobile devices. The Love Island USA app has also seen a 175% rise in unique users, with the series generating over 1 billion social media video views this season.
