CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION: Frederik Haren Urges Advertising Industry to Embrace Imagination for Future Growth.

KARACHI: Internationally acclaimed creativity expert Frederik Haren, widely recognised as “The Creativity Explorer,” called on advertising, marketing, and business leaders to embrace creativity, innovation, and curiosity as essential drivers of growth in an increasingly competitive global marketplace.

Speaking at an exclusive session organised by the International Advertising Association (IAA) Pakistan Chapter, Haren highlighted the growing importance of creative thinking in modern business strategy. He stressed that creativity is no longer a desirable skill but a critical competitive advantage for organizations seeking long-term success in the digital age.

According to Haren, breakthrough innovation is rarely about creating entirely new ideas. Instead, it emerges from combining existing concepts in fresh and unexpected ways. He explained that imagination, curiosity, and the willingness to challenge conventional thinking are the foundations of innovation, business transformation, and sustainable growth.

As the author of 10 influential books on creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship – including the internationally recognized “The Idea Book” – Haren shared insights from more than two decades of global research and experience. He noted that organisations that cultivate a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and creative problem-solving are better equipped to develop impactful marketing campaigns and respond effectively to evolving consumer expectations.

He further emphasised that the world’s most successful companies encourage employees to ask better questions, explore diverse perspectives, learn from different industries, and embrace calculated risks. Such organisations are often more adaptable, innovative, and resilient in the face of rapid technological and market changes.

Encouraging participants to think beyond traditional limitations, Haren stated that the greatest barrier to success is not a shortage of resources but a shortage of imagination. He explained that individuals and businesses with a creative mindset are more likely to discover opportunities, attract strategic partnerships, and unlock new avenues for growth.

Haren also urged organiSations to create workplace environments where employees feel empowered to experiment, share unconventional ideas, and learn from setbacks without fear of failure. Building a culture that supports innovation, he said, is essential for achieving long-term business success and maintaining relevance in a fast-changing world.

Expressing his appreciation, Senator Sarmad Ali, President of the International Advertising Association (IAA) Pakistan Chapter, thanked Frederik Haren for sharing his valuable expertise and global perspective on creativity and innovation. He noted that Haren’s insights provided inspiration and practical guidance for professionals seeking to navigate the future of advertising, marketing, and business leadership.
