Nicole Kidman recently shared that her passion for clothing was shaped during childhood by her grandmother, who lovingly handcrafted elaborate outfits for her, and even for her Barbie and Ken dolls.

Speaking about her early memories, the Oscar-winning actress recalled standing patiently for hours while her grandmother meticulously created each outfit with remarkable attention to detail.

"My grandmother would make all my clothes," she said. "Not kind of just haphazardly put them together. She would put little collars on, and little fur, and a little trim, and some ribbons."

The actress joked that the level of craftsmanship made her feel like she was wearing high fashion from an early age. "Everything was couture, so I was baby couture," Kidman said with a laugh.

Kidman's grandmother's creativity extended beyond her wardrobe. She also designed custom outfits for the actress's Barbie dolls, ensuring they had one-of-a-kind looks that no one else owned.

"Then I would dress my Barbie in couture clothes because my grandmother would make my Barbie clothes," Kidman recalled. "I had clothes for my Barbie that nobody had."
