Kinza Hashmi has gained quite a fanbase from her role as a shrewd political scion in Leader, including a couple of actual parliamentarians. One of the legislators, MNA Romina Khurshid Alam, even invited the actress to the National Assembly.
In an Instagram reel, Hashmi walked into the assembly building with Alam giving her a tour. The actress also visited the assembly floor, meeting staffers. The three-time MNA presented her with a token of appreciation and spoke highly of her work representing female legislators in the media.
In the post’s caption, the actress said visiting parliament gave her a deeper understanding of the role she played in Leader. “Politics, what just looks like a privilege is more than that – it’s a responsibility, a duty and an all-time commitment,” she wrote.
Hashmi also sat down with Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar during her visit. Earlier in July, Alam and Balochistan MNA Jamal Raisani praised the her performance in Leader, with Alam saying Hashmi owned the role and calling her acting “absolutely phenomenal”.
Hashmi’s onscreen persona in Leader, Rubab, is the daughter of a shrewd politician with a feudal background. In later episodes, she takes the reins of her father’s political empire, coming into her own as an iron-willed party leader.
