When it comes to a tasty fast food treat, Burger King is one of the most popular among people across the world. There's a whole host of flame-grilled goodness to choose from their menu, including fish dishes and healthy salads, but there's another big section of the menu people often don't even consider that is chicken.

Burger King UK's CEO Alasdair Murdoch admits that the chain's chicken burgers aren't always such a big hit, so has taken extreme measures to launch its newest sandwich - the Crispy Chicken Burger.

The company is offering one lucky person £20,000 to be the first person to taste the new addition to the menu.

Yes, you read that correctly, £20,000 just to bite into a burger.

Even though it sounds too good to be true - the promotion is real (we checked, and double checked) and is just for customers in the UK.

Announcing the news, Alasdair said: "This might be the most ridiculous thing I've ever done.

"I'm about to offer a real person £20,000 to have a bite of a chicken burger.

"Why? Well think about it.

"Right now who would, A, try and find a Burger King, B, actually walk into one, and C, order something that isn't beef, isn't flame-grilled, and isn't spelt Whopper.

"We weren't born yesterday. We know full well about our checkered chicken past.

"So we had no other option. We're going to pay 20,000 to have the first bite of the Crispy Chicken Burger.

"We need you. Desperately."
