I will determine when I want to act with SRK: Meera

Meera is always surprising us with sharing things about her we didn’t know. This time, the actress took to twitter to reveal, “I was once asked by an LA Times reporter – if you are a super star when will Shah Rukh Khan act with you? I said, ‘No, price is too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself. I own myself and I will determine when I want to act with him’.” Further, the veteran artiste requested all her fans to support her journey to Hollywood and stated, “To all my loyal fans, I would like to broaden my acting horizon and kindly request you to encourage and tweet to Universal Pictures to please consider me in their upcoming film projects.”

Armeena does not take cyber-bullying easy

Armeena Rana Khan continues to set an example for young women, this time by calling out a guy who abused her on Twitter. Sharing screenshots of his tweets, the Janaan starlet stated, “So I’m attaching the tweets because such persons should be exposed for being a menace to society. This man has zero respect for mothers, daughters and sisters. I ask all to refrain from such language as it is unbecoming for a Pakistani. This is not how our parents bring us up.”

The UK-born actress went on to address cyber-bullying, saying, “Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls: Never, EVER take bullying or abuse from anyone. All the decent people from around the world are with you. I want to create a safe platform for debate, exchange of ideas and freedom of speech (not to be confused with abuse) on my Twitter for all especially women.”

Pakistani film Indus Blues nominated at RIFFA

Jawad Sharif’s Indus Blues has been nominated for the Best Documentary Film award at the prestigious Regina International Film Festival (RIFFA) for the Best Documentary Film this year. The film is a documentation of Pakistani folk artists speaking of their struggles to keep a fading art alive, reminding the world what it is about to lose. Its tagline reads, “The forgotten music of Pakistan.” A team collaborated to map out all the endangered instruments from the various regions of Pakistan together with the remaining craftsmen who still make them and the master musicians who still play them, and then travelled across these regions to make the documentary. According to the team, once the film has done the international rounds, it will start screening locally in cities around Pakistan.

PC & NICK PHOTOS DOUBLE-INSPIRED

The newly engaged Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were recently spotted at Ralph Lauren’s 50th anniversary show in New York. While the actress dazzled in a monochrome crystal-embellished turtleneck gown by the designer, the singer complimented her with a white shirt and blazer paired with black trousers and bow tie. What struck most about the couple’s appearance was that it bore an uncanny resemblance to the December-2017 cover of Vanity Fair magazine featuring Jennifer Lopez and her baseball beau Alex Rodriguez who sported identical outfits. Not only this, PC and Nick also recreated a pose from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s engagement photo shoot, showing off her Tiffany and Co diamond ring.

IS OSCAR DE LA RENTA FOLLOWING PAKISTANI FASHION WEEKS?

Among the pieces that made headlines at this year’s New York Fashion Week was a particular one by Oscar De la Renta. Supermodel Gigi Hadid strutted the ramp in strappy sandals, clad in an attire similar to a kurta pajama. Exuding its inspiration from the likes of India and Morocco, her garb consisted of a top constructed in a striped off-white fabric and flared bright yellow bottoms. The kameez-resembling tunic entailed tie-up detailing around the neckline and overly long, shirt-style sleeves with unbuttoned cuffs. It also featured high slits down both sides with rounded-off hems. The Pillowtalk star also displayed a leather purse resembling a pigeon cage, which has been a regular at the bridal shows here, and made quite the statement.

Nomia Ansari’s 24-karat gold outfit is a sight to behold!

This year’s PFDC Pakistan Loreal Paris Bridal Week was arguably among the best bridal weeks we have had lately. Many designers left the audience in fascination with their breath-taking craft. One in particular stirred a conversation: Nomi Ansari’s bridal gown from his collection ‘Maya’. Strutted on the ramp by the gorgeous Sunita Marshall, the mesmerising gown is made of 24 karat gold. In his own words, the master couturier states of his collection, “Staying true to our craft, we bring to life a melodious play of colours and technique that made every piece on the runway a glorious essence of art.”
