Two year old Roman Dinkel who was born with spina bifida turned into an Internet star when he took some of his first steps in a family video that has since been viewed more than 25 million times. Supporting himself on his forearm crutches or “sticks”, as he calls them Roman squeals with joy, telling his 10 month old pet cockapoo, “Look, Maggie! I’m walking, Maggie!” Despite having endured two brain surgeries and a range of health challenges, Roman “is a happy, loving, amazing little boy,” says his dad, Adam Dinkel, 32. “He’s very outgoing. He’s very funny.” Adds mom Whitney, 29: “We have faith he’s gonna have an awesome life.”
